ESM Prep often looks to hire experienced mentors in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. Overview

ESM Prep is a group of passionate educators seeking Academic Mentors excited to work at the intersection of education and business. Together, ESM prep and these brands provide a wide range of support to students including academic tutoring, college counseling, executive function coaching, and test preparation.

Job Description.  

Mentors will assist students one-on-one in preparing for college by readying them for the ACT and SAT exams and potentially other academic subjects, as well. 

We call our tutors Academic Mentors because we prioritize the holistic development of each of our students. All applicants should be passionate about working with youth and should have previous experience tutoring, teaching, and/or coaching.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree‍
  • Prior experience teaching ACT/SAT. A past score or a score from a diagnostic test taken during the application process may be required
  • Must be able to tutor in person in one of our markets or virtually 2 to 3 times a week
  • Additional expertise in tutoring  multiple high school subjects, especially math, computer science, and physics is a plus!
  • Available part-time. Tutoring usually occurs on weekday evenings (after 3 pm) and/or on weekends. Typical work schedule is Sunday-Thursday. Although the majority of the work is online, you must be available for in-person tutoring in students' homes
  • Available to tutor through June 2024 or longer
  • Reliable internet access

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $60-$70 per hour teaching rate
